February 2008

Hi Everybody,

Well I hope the New Year has been kind to all of you so far! As usual I can’t believe the first month is almost over, I don’t think I’ll ever get used to the speed of time. I think it is more prominent to me because I sit down at the end of every month and compile the newsletter, and every time without fail it feels like just yesterday I sent the last one out…

For those of you looking to do some ‘Self’ work this year, there are still some seats available for Syndrome X (the Energetic Life weight loss workshop) on the 9th of February if you are interested in learning about weight loss from an holistic and energetic point of view, as well as the Meditation Course. Please click on the links above for more information on these.

In the past week I had the most incredible experience I just have to share with you! In an unfortunate turn of events our wolf Ashah, needed to go in to the vet to be spayed, and as is common here, every time something significant happens with the animals in our household, a close friend of mine that is an animal communicator comes to visit for a chat with the animals. Well, I think there is a lot we don’t know about our animals! After some initial communication about her own predicament, out of the blue, Ashah managed to utterly confound this friend of mine by showing her an image to two cats she had never seen before; a ginger and a grey tabby lying together sleeping. Yesterday, I went to collect two kittens that I had never seen before that are to be the newest additions to the family. They are lying in the spare room at the moment, curled up together and the best of friends… a ginger and a grey tabby. I think all too often we underestimate the furry members of our families…

Anyway, that’s all from me for this month, I hope you enjoy the articles below :)

Love and light

The Potted Plant - We Only Have Power Over That Which We Love

This first basic principle of the enchanted worlds of energy, namely that we can only understand, change or control that which we love is in direct conflict with most everything we have ever learned.  In the old dusty books of the ages, folk keep telling us that we need to destroy things, fight things, battle things, beat up on things with pain and punishment, to force things with brutality and to act with extreme prejudice against everything one hates and despises. And that is a terrible lie, a cruel lie, a lie which has turned our original enchanted worlds into a living hell. In the enchanted world, if you hate a thing, if you reject it, deny it, turn your back on it or judge it, you CUT YOURSELF OFF from it in an instant. ... More

What is Metabolic Syndrome X?

There is no doubt in my mind that any person who is overweight in this day and age got that way, or stays that way because of something called Insulin resistance or Metabolic Syndrome X. I will believe it until I die, no doctor, and no dietician will ever convince me otherwise. I think my biggest problem with most dieticians (and now I use the word most, so not all, but most), is that they have never been overweight, so how would they know what it actually feels like? And my biggest problem with so many doctors is that they are overweight and they aren’t doing anything about it, so they probably don’t know as much about nutrition as they should. That’s my opinion anyway, and that’s also why I’m a lot thinner for not having listened to doctors and dieticians. … More

The Year of the Rat, 2008

According to the Chinese Zodiac, the Year of 2008 is a Year of the Rat (Earth), which begins on February 7, 2008 and ends on January 25, 2009.  First in the cycle of 12 Animal signs, Rat Year begins the sequence and recurs every twelfth year. It is a time of renewal in many ways. A Rat Year is a time of hard work, activity, and renewal.  This is a good year to begin a new job, get married, launch a product or make a fresh start.  Ventures begun now may not yield fast returns, but opportunities will come for people who are well prepared and resourceful.  The best way for you to succeed is to be patient, let things develop slowly, and make the most of every opening you can find.  … More

Are Your Cell Phone and Laptop Bad for Your Health?

In the wee hours of July 14, a 45-year-old Australian named John Patterson climbed into a tank and drove it through the streets of Sydney, knocking down six cell-phone towers and an electrical substation along the way. Patterson, a former telecommunications worker, reportedly had mapped out the locations of the towers, which he claimed were harming his health. In recent years, protesters in England and Northern Ireland have brought down cell towers by sawing, removing bolts, and pulling with tow trucks and ropes. In one such case, locals bought the structure and sold off pieces of it as souvenirs to help with funding of future protests. In attempts to fend off objections to towers in Germany, some churches have taken to disguising them as giant crucifixes. … More
