Hi Everybody,

Here I am again, every month flies by faster than the last! With the energy shifts of September I am sure some of you are still picking up the pieces and rearranging them into something that fits better, or reeling from unexpected changes in your lives or attitudes, but I’m not going to go into the lengthy blame game of how it’s all energy shifts that make us feel and react the way we in our lives, change isn’t always comfortable, but if you allow it and go with it, it can be a truly wonderful experience.

September has been an exiting month for me; finally taking that step out of the corporate world to pursue my healing passion has opened up a whole new world to me, one where I truly have seen the power of following your dreams and how the Universe responds so utterly to you if you have faith and just let it carry you!

I have met amazing people in the last month and seen the beauty and interconnectedness of life and humanity in ways I never imagined possible, each day has been an adventure and a blessing. To those of you who shared my space this month, I would like to say a huge thank you! Each one of you has brought something beautiful into my life from inspiration to insight, learning and simply being awed at the beauty and complexity of Being.

The first article in this month’s newsletter had a particular impact on me; moving from a secure environment where you know that even if your day is not spent doing what you love, your (material) needs will be met at the end of the month can really open the door to fear. I knew that I would have to be very careful with where I allowed my mind to wander, and this article, although it wasn’t about my particular situation helped me to maintain my focus in a positive light. It is a lovely read, and I am sure that it will strike a chord in many of you too.

If any of you have difficulty with accessing this newsletter, please drop me a mail, even though my newsletter is sent out by subscription only is may still be picked up as spam or an unsafe site depending on your security settings.

Lastly, I would like to ask you to please forward this newsletter on to anyone that you think might be interested in subscribing to it, it is an opt-in newsletter and only sent to people who have subscribed. If this message has been forwarded on to you and you would like to receive it every month, please subscribe here. Walking our true spiritual path

The 14th Century Sufi Master Hafiz was once asked the question: “What is the sign of someone who truly knows God?” It is said that he paused for a moment, drew a deep breath and looked compassionately into the questioner’s eyes. His reply was this: “They have dropped the knife. - They have learned to drop the cruel knife most so often use upon their tender self and that of others.”

This beautiful response speaks to the heart of the daily spiritual purification that all great teachings guide us to practice every day. In order to embody the universal virtues of love, kindness, compassion and deep respect for our fellow beings, we must commit to relinquish everything that is contrary to our true nature.

‘The knife’ is a metaphor for our human habits of harshness, treasured defences and critical urges which we have learned to foster. Instead of greeting self and other as an embodiment of all that is most sacred, we all at times find ourselves holding judgements about self or other which are far from loving...  Questions…

Who do you hold accountable in your life? Who is responsible for your wellbeing? Who is responsible for the way you look? A dietician? Fitness instructor? Beautician? Who is responsible for your happiness? A spouse? A lover? Your children? Some good friends? And what about your health? A doctor? Your yoga instructor?

Do they fulfil their roles and responsibilities adequately? Are you beautiful thanks to them? Are you happy? Are you healthy? How is all that working for you? Why do we give so much of ourselves over to others? Why do we think it’s perfectly natural to hold others accountable for our wellbeing? Who are you responsible for? Do you think it is fair to be held accountable for another’s health, happiness or general wellbeing? Do you feel that you’re up to being responsible for another’s happiness? And if not, then why do you hold someone else accountable for yours?... Read full article here

Salt precious or poison?

Life on Earth is not possible without salt. But our consumption of salt is killing us. Why is that? Because; our regular table salt no longer has anything in common with the original crystal salt. Salt nowadays is mainly sodium chloride and not salt. Natural crystal salt consists not only of two (Sodium and Chloride), but also of all natural elements.  These are exactly identical to the elements of which our bodies have been built and originally found existing in the “primal ocean” where all life originated. Interesting enough, our blood contains the same salty solution or brine as that of the primal sea… Read full article here

Meditation

Meditation to some, conjures images of yogi’s sitting in impossible poses with their hands poised, fingers together on their knees, eyes closed, and doing ‘something’, or ‘nothing’. To others, it can be considered a state of prayer, or quiet contemplation, to others still, the mystery remains; contemplation of what? What are people actually doing when they are sitting in a meditative state and why are they doing it to begin with?

Meditation is one of the proven alternate therapies that can broadly be classified under mind-body medicine. More and more, doctors are prescribing meditation as a way to lower blood pressure, improve exercise performance in people with angina, help people with asthma breathe easier, relieve insomnia and generally relax the everyday stresses of life. Meditation is a safe and simple way to balance a person's physical, emotional, and mental states. It is simple; but can benefit everybody… Read full article here
